Kenya is a world renown blue water fishing destination, with the fishing split into two seasons. From the south blows the Kusi April to late November, and the Kaskazi from the north east mid December to March – the wind for marlin.
Home mooring is Watamu, Kenya’s top fishing location with the Banks, Boiling Pot, Malindi Bay and the Rips on hand, a great spot.
Simba’s Fishing Safari’s Peponi Hotel and Restaurant situated in Lamu the north of Kenya is a fantastic destination for fishing sail in good numbers for lure or fly in September to December, and marlin February and March. Peponi is one of East Africa’s top hotels.
Shimoni and the Pemba channel on the south coast of Kenya during January to early March is good for blues, blacks and has a very good run of stripped marlin. It is a good destination for marlin on fly.
